Photographer Annie Leibovitz embarked on a series of portraits, shot exclusively on Google’s new Pixel 4 – portraying individuals who are changing the landscape of their time. From an environmental caretaker, to an army officer, to an equal justice lawyer, Leibovitz encounters her subjects in the places they live & work and are inspired into action.
The campaign highlights extraordinary people who are defined by their fierce desire to make the world a better place, no matter how daunting the obstacles.
Google enlisted journalist and activist Noor Tagouri to direct and executive produce a sizzle featuring Kathryn Macleod Schafer’s BTS footage that followed Annie on the road as she meets and shoots the remarkable subjects included in the Pixel’s “Face Forward” campaign. With visual identity, Made by Google 2019 event footage and post-production by MATTE, the video brings light to the campaign’s purpose and what it means to truly face forward.
