Maytha Alhassen on Muslim Representation in Media, Our New Project, and More

Submit your stories at www.noortagouri.com/representation Dr. Maytha Al Hassen is a historian, journalist, social justice artist, and mending practitioner. She uses this work to bridge the worlds of organizing, academic research, media engagement, artistic expression and spiritually-guided healing practices. As an artist and organizer, Alhassen has performed and written extensively about the Muslim experience. She has written and produced on the award winning TV series ‘Ramy,’ and will be joining AYS as a researcher on our new, untitled investigative project.

Our intention with this project is to remain open, listen to YOUR stories of how the misrepresentation of Muslims in media has impacted your lives, and to find us all answers we’ve been looking for, for a very long time. There is no one we would rather have to help guide us through our upcoming findings. 🙏
