Amber Hikes on What it Means to Be an Accomplice, The Power of Language, and *DiVeRsIty*

Amber Hikes (whose pronouns are they/she) is a social justice advocate and community organizer. They are the Chief Equity and Inclusion Officer at the American Civil Liberties Union where they provide vision, leadership, and direction for the ACLU’s nationwide strategy to support equity, diversity, and inclusion. This conversation is full, and full of my own learning. We get into what it means to be an accomplice vs. an ally, the power of language, approaching work through a lens of intersectionality, and more. I am left after this conversation, feeling more hopeful, feeling more clear, having a better understanding of what liberation means for myself, my community and the communities at large, and how we can all be of better service to one another. I hope you enjoy this one xx
